The City Council has called a Special Council Meeting for Monday, September 29, 2025, at 6 PM at City Hall to discuss matters with the Chamber of Commerce.

The County Court has just issued a burn ban for Prairie County. It is effective immediately, 09-19-2025. During the burn ban, ALL outdoor burning is prohibited. Burns done in violation of the Judge’s order may result in criminal citations, violation of the burn ban is a misdemeanor offense.

ATTENTION WATER CUSTOMERS!! The Fire Department will be flushing water lines within city limits September 15, 2025, at 6:00 PM.
ATTENTION WATER CUSTOMERS!! City Employees will be flushing water lines on Highways 249, 302, and 86 on Monday, September 8, and Tuesday, September 9. If you have discolored water in those areas, please allow your water to run to clear your lines. If it does not clear up, please call the office so we are aware which areas to address.

Council Members Nicole Fisher, Rusty Smith, Keith Knupp, Dooby Moore, Joey York and Doug Estes have scheduled a work meeting for Monday, August 25th at 5:30 pm at the City Hall Municipal Courtroom. This meeting will be to only discuss water issues regarding the City of Des Arc. The public is welcome to attend.

ATTENTION WATER CUSTOMERS!! Des Arc City employees will be flushing water lines from the 4-Mile Corner to Hazen and Carlisle areas beginning Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Due to the size of the system and the current status of Water Plant repairs, this process could take up to 3 weeks. Customers may experience discolored water and low pressure. DES ARC UTILITIES employees will be doing routine inspection and maintenance of gas and water lines and meters, if you see city employees around and/or on your property. The City does enter upon the premises during reasonable times for the purpose of servicing its equipment, reading meters, discontinuing service, removing service pipes and/or meters or any other necessary reason and incidental to the conduct of its business as a distributor.
