The City of Des Arc is now accepting sealed bids for the purchase of 13.5 lots, offered for development purposes, not for resale. The property includes Lots 8–10 of Block 7, Lots 3–9 of Block 14, the South ½ of Lot 12 of Block 13, and Lots 1–3 of Block 16 of the Erwin Survey, situated along Ambrose, Pike, and Chester Streets near the river. All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope and turned in at City Hall at 107 S 3rd Street in Des Arc, no later than April 21, 2026, at 12:00 PM. In the area of Robinwood Road, a water main has been hit and water will need to be shut off for repairs. Employees are working to repair it as soon as possible.
GAS CUSTOMERS!! Tomorrow, March 19, 2026, at approximately 2:00 PM, City workers will need to shut off the gas to do some needed repairs. The area affected will be from Calhoun Street to Hamilton Street.
If any private residents have old tires and need a place to dispose of them for free, the City has a trailer set up beside the old State Farm building right off Main Street. It will be there until it is full.
The City of Des Arc is currently taking bids on 13.5 lots along the Riverfront in Des Arc, AR. These lots are a perfect location for camping, RV parks, or special buildings. Prairie County Burn Ban Lifted
We are under a burn ban effective tomorrow.
There has been a water main break and water will have to be shut off in the area of 3rd to 5th Street, from Gordon to Chester Street in order for employees to repair the water line. You may experience no water, low pressure, and/or discolored water in this area.
Due to hazardous conditions for the crew, MJJJ Sanitation will not be running the trash routes today. Stay tuned for updates.

REMINDER FOR WATER CUSTOMERS!! With sub-freezing temperatures expected, we would like to remind you to please drip your faucets during periods of extreme cold. Allowing a small, steady drip of water can help prevent pipes from freezing and potentially bursting. We also recommend opening cabinet doors under sinks (especially those along outside walls) to allow warmer air to circulate around plumbing. Taking these simple precautions can help avoid costly damage and service disruptions during cold weather. Thank you!
CITY WATER CUSTOMERS: A water main broke earlier on 5th Street and has just been repaired. If you have discolored water, please run your water to clear it from your lines.
GAS CUSTOMERS!! On November 19, 2025 at 3:00 PM, gas will be shut off from Hamilton Street to Calhoun Street in order for employees to repair a line. We estimate this will take no longer than a couple of hours. Employees will go door-to-door once complete so that pilot lights can be lit.
Water will be shut off around Brown Acres Road for a repair. It will be back on shortly.
The City of Des Arc is encouraging all residents who want to participate in Trick-or-Treating to do so on Thursday, October 30th this year since Halloween falls on the same night as a football game.
