The Des Arc Walking Trail begins at 5th Street and travels the original route of the Rock Island Railroad Line behind the historic Prairie County Courthouse, along the White River and Tom Roe Memorial Park, and ends just past the Riverfront Playground and directly before Dondie's White River Princess.

Clean up and restoration of the walking trail began in stages in 2021. With the help of Charles Walls, Jerry Greenwood, Roy Nelson, Kelly Sanner and Eddie Richards, the trail was cleared out and landscaped.

In 2022, the City of Des Arc received grant funds from Arkansas Department of Transportation for the rehabilitation of the Walking Trail. Redstone Construction Company poured new asphalt and retaining walls. Lamps were also repaired and replaced.
