Steamboat Days

Steamboat Days is an annual festival that traditionally takes place in June to celebrate the history and founding of Des Arc. There are many activities, events, food, and competitions. Some popular events are live music, cook-offs, pageants, a 5K run, and fireworks. Find out more details on the Steamboat Days Facebook Page.

Prairie County Fair and Livestock Association

The Prairie County Fair is a week long event in September hosted by the Prairie County Fair and Livestock Association. Located on Hwy 249 – West off Hwy 11 Between Des Arc and Hazen, the county fair includes many events and competitions including a pageant, parade, a creative arts exhibit, livestock and shooting competitions, and a demolition derby! Trunk-or-Treat & Fall Fest

Taking place during Halloween and the beginning of November, respectively, these events provide lots of kid-friendly activities. The Des Arc Chamber of Commerce hosts Fall Fest. You can stay up to date by following them on Des Arc Chamber's Facebook Page. Trunk-or-Treat events are hosted individually at the many places around the city. Merry on Main & Christmas at the River

Hosted by Des Arc Chamber and Paul Guess with Guess and Company in November, Merry on Main or Christmas at the River is a major pre-Christmas celebration. Christmas

Many events take place in Des Arc around Christmas including the Miss Merry Christmas pageant and the Christmas parade led by Santa Claus followed by horseback riders, pageant winners, the city police, fire department, ambulance service, and many floats from local businesses and organizations. Our Volunteer Fire Department also takes the trucks for a drive through the city with Santa Claus to toss candy. Be sure to follow Des Arc News You Should Know for any Christmas events.
